Man Has Close Encounter With Mountain Lions

A man had a harrowing visit from three mountain lions at his rustic homes in the Rocky Mountains.
John Vomastic was inside his lodge in Manitou Springs, Colorado on March 23 when three giant cats were on the prowl in his snow covered yard. One of the visiting cats even leaned up against the window to get a peek inside the home and glared at the home owner.

The encounter happened shortly after sunset and fortunately a car driving down a nearby road distracted the prowling visitors and prompted their swift departure.

He posted the video of footage from his security camera to Facebook, explaining that one of the three lions was very curious.

'One of the three lions did a bit of exploring. He walked over to my PV solar array and looked down the mountainside,' the home owner wrote.

'I was watching him from the window. I made some noise to get his attention. He turned and walked toward the window. When he raised himself and put his front paws on the window, I got a bit scared.'
When the large cat peered in, Mr Vomastic managed to photograph the curious guests.

'The only thing that was protecting me from that big cat was a piece of glass,' he told KRDO-TV.
Fearful that the large cat might be agitated and try to break through the glass, Vomastic was unsure of what to do but fortunately a car coming down the road made some noise and distracted the large beast.

At that point, the three decided to flee the scene. Vomastic's home is located near Pikes Peak in the Rocky Mountains.
Given the rugged terrain, he frequently encounters animal visitors and he told ABC News he considers 'it a privilege to live with these animals and share this space.'
