Ghana : 34 Wesley Girls Students Dismissed For Engaging In Lesbianism

Homosexuality was recently a hotly debated topic in Ghana following the appointment of gay rights defender Nana Oye Lithur as minister of gender, children and social protection. The subject recurrently comes up and then fritters off. It has come up once again.

This time around, the Herald Newspaper reports that lesbianism is apparently gaining strong among students of the Wesley Girls senior high school in the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi.

The Paper says 34 girls have been dismissed from the school as a result of the practice.

Lesbianism is alleged to be very popular in some all-girls senior high schools in the country.

Some boys’ schools have also gained notoriety for gay practice. In most case, it is the seniors who allegedly introduce and force their juniors into the practice.

In an interview with XYZ News some students at the Accra Girls and Osu Presbyterian Senior High Schools stated that the practice appears to be gaining popularity among students.
