Chelsea win Europa League with stunning late Branislav Ivanovic header

Chelsea have won the Uefa Europa League final against Benfica with an injury-time goal.Branislav Ivanovic scored in the 93rd minute to secure the 2-1 victory against the Portuguese side in the Amsterdam Arena.
Spanish striker Fernando Torres had previously given the London team the lead, before Oscar Cardozo equalised from a penalty.

The win represents a triumph for interim Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez, who has faced concerted hostility from the club's fans since his appointment in November.
Chelsea's Juan Mata, left, and Branislav Ivanovic, celebrate at the end of the Europa League final soccer match against Benfica in Amsterdam, Netherlands on Wednesday. Chelsea defeated Benfica 2-1.
It is the team's second European trophy in consecutive years, after their Champions League win in 2012.

For 10 days they will hold both titles simultaneously, before the Champions League is claimed by the winners of this year's final on May 25.

Benitez led Chelsea up the stairs for the trophy presentation, where he was followed by players including club captain John Terry - who did not play due to an ankle injury.

Repeating his actions at Chelsea's previous European final, in Munich 12 months ago, Terry adhered to Uefa regulations and put on his full match kit for the presentation of the trophy.

Other non-playing members of the Chelsea squad followed the 32-year-old defender's lead in stripping to full match kit, including Oriol Romeu and Hilario.

Terry then joined Chelsea's captain on the night, Frank Lampard, in lifting the trophy.

The win came days after Chelsea secured a top-four Premier League finish and lucrative Champions League qualification.

Despite the success, Benitez is still expected to be released and replaced with the club's former manager Jose Mourinho at the end of the season.
