4-Storey Building Collapses in Philadelphia

3-story building collapses in Port Richmond
Between eight and 10 people are believed to be trapped in the rubble of a four-story building that collapsed in Philadelphia today.

The collapse, which occurred at about 10:30am, may be the result of an industrial accident, police tell NBC Philadelphia, but CNN is reporting that it was a demolition accident.

Witnesses say at least a dozen people have been rescued already, and ABC 6 reports that at least nine have been taken to the hospital with injuries.

According to CBS, the building and an adjacent one were reportedly set to be demolished. Beside them was a Salvation Army Thrift Store. The debris crashed into the store, which had customers inside, said one witness, who rushed to help pull the shoppers from the rubble.
