While presenting the case before the High Court chaired by Mr. Kofi Kpogo, Chief Inspector
Franklin Selby said that Madam Agnes Miezah Bazayi (one of the suspect) had a coconut tree behind Kojo Ezay (the victim’s) kitchen and the branches and leaves of that tree fell on the kitchen’s roof for several times damaging the kitchen’s roof.
The prosecutor said, on 20th May 2013, Agnes asked Kojo to cut the the branches of coconut tree to secure the kitchen from further damage.
According to the Chief Inspector Selby, Kojo availed the services of Kelamo for this.
When Kelamo was cutting the branches, Agnes and her daughter came and used a long stick for penetrating his bums and because of that Kelamo fell down from the top of the tree.
Both suspects tried to threat Kelamo from cutting the branches but Kelamo ignored them all and climbed up the tree again. On the top of the tree the two suspects penetrated his bums with a long raffia stick which damaged his anus along with some vital organs in his intestines, including his rectum.
The victim was immediately taken to the Eikwe Catholic Hospital.
Chief Inspector Franklin Selby told that Kelamo was referred to the Effia Nkwanta Regional hospital in Sekondi and after that, to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra where he went through a major colostomy operation to form an artificial anal opening in the body.
The unlucky victim can’t go to toilet through usual anus, he uses a tube for that.
