My dad,Dr kwame Nkrumah was not a magician...Mahama is not a leader- Says Sokou Nkrumah

Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, son of Ghana's first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, has described his late father as Ghana’s finest president who achieved a lot in his tenure as president.

According to him, President John Dramani Mahama is not a leader and does not qualify to occupy the seat as Ghana’s President due to his inability to handle issues, as well as achieving what his quondam leader (Late Prez Mills) couldn’t accomplish.

He, however, advised President Mahama to include matured expertise in his administration to help him succeed while he reigns as the president.

“With leadership, you need to have that drive. It doesn’t mean that a leader knows everything. Mahama is not a leader, he is not. The point is that you have to fight for it to become a leader. You must be driven and have that ambition and also get a vision.

“…You will not know everything, but as a leader, you have to bring people on board and attract people who will help you. I will say Dr. Kwame Nkrumah (Ghana’s first President) was not a magician, but he achieved so much because he had a vision.

“…He (Dr. Kwame Nkrumah) brought people on board, whether from abroad to Ghana; and (they) helped him shape that vision. What I am saying is that you don’t see that in today’s Ghana. We are moving without leaders, and that cannot be. We are going nowhere,” he lamented.

He believes both late President Mills and the current president should have been consigned to the Vice Presidential position rather than allowed to assume the mantle of presidency.

Outspoken Sekou on Asempa FM expressed worry as to why Ghana for the past years is not progressing as a state.

“With this kind of leadership moving forward…? We are not moving forward at all, and it is something we cannot appreciate. Are we going to be living on past glory? Continue to be saying Ghana was this…..Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was that and did that, what are we doing? We can still see the physical achievement of Dr. Nkrumah up to date. We can still see the vision he (Dr. Nkrumah) had for Ghana and even beyond Africa,” he said.

Adding, “When you compare the kind of leaders we’ve had in recent history, it’s a far cry and a big shame”.
