Desailly set to take over as Kenya coach

Ghanaian born former French international, Marcel Desailly, is set to take over the Harambee Stars of Kenya as head coach, according to reports.

The team is currently coached by Adel Amrouche, who leads the side out at the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup tomorrow.

But local reports have it that the former Chelsea star could take over the team by the end of the month.

Desailly who is currently in Kenya for negotiations has tipped the Kenyan national team to rule Africa, he said in an interview with Standard Digital, a local Kenyan tabloid.

"Every time teams from West Africa take the lion share at the African Nations Cup and the World Cup; this must stop. I say Harambee Stars has the capability to turn all this around in East Africa.

"The era of one-sided competition in Africa is long gone," Desailly added.
