Germany to pay 300,000 euros for World Cup win

Members of the German national team will earn a total of 300,000 euros if they win the World Cup in Brazil.

The arrangement, reached between the playing body ,represented by captain Philip Lahm and the DFB will see the team not earn any money until they make the quarter finals.

Each player will receive EUR 50 000 for that stage, 100 000 EUR for the semi-final and for the final, EUR 150 000.

DFB boss Wolfgang Niersbach said the quick resolution of bonuses was testimony to the great relationship between both parties.

“This quick agreement is proof of the great trust between us and the team. The players are committed to this performance based reward system.”

There was a similar arrangement during the 2010 World Cup, where the team was promised a total of 250,000 EUR if they won the title.

The Mannschaft are paired in Grop G against Portugal,Ghana and the United States of America.
