REPORTS!!! 300 Ghanaians kidnapped in Libya

Worrying reports from Tripoli, the Libyan capital, indicate that about 300 Ghanaians have been kidnapped within one year.It is alleged that a majority of the victims have so far been killed.

It is yet unclear why they have been subjected to such inhumane treatment. One of the surviving victims, Daniel Andoh in an interview with Citi News accused authorities at the Ghana Embassy in Libya of not serving the interest of Ghanaians living there.

He narrated their predicament saying, “They are kidnapping Ghanaians here in Libya and our Ambassador is not doing anything about it even though we have officially informed him about the situation.”

Anxious Andoh hinted that, on Wednesday, one of their colleagues from Nima (name withheld) was killed because he could not meet the Kidnappers demand.

He implied that the Kidnappers always demanded between 700 and 800 Dinar.

According to Andoh, Ghanaians living in Libya were tired of what he described as the Ghana Ambassador in Libya’s lukewarm attitude towards their plight.

He thus appealed to Ghana government to support them.
