Ghanaian students ‘thrown out’ of UK Universities

Ghanaian students on scholarship who are studying at various Universities in the UK are being evicted from their accommodation and also denied access to academic services.

Some of the stranded students who have made distress calls to XYZ News have painted a very dire situation which they say calls for urgent attention.

Fred Doodoo, a student at the University of Hull said they were being denied access to the school’s Library beside their eviction from their rooms.

Others also say they are compelled to scrounge for daily survival as a result of a delay in disbursement of their living allowance by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund).

The GETfund, about a month ago, conceded that it was having difficulties in raising funds to disburse to the students.

The Fund, however, assured that efforts were being made to scale the hurdles so the funds could be disbursed to the students as soon as possible.
